Why Should I use a Video Guestbook style instead of Classic for my live event

You could use our Classic video style if you choose. However, our Video Guestbook has been tuned to the task of getting responses at a live event — making it a simple experience to help you maximize the the number of recordings you receive.

  1. you wouldn't want to just send guests a URL like you do with Classic. That's great for when they're at home but not great for finding when they're at a party. That's where QR codes come in.
  2. So you'd still need to use a service to get a QR code. You can probably find a free service. However they might be linked to ads or other data harvesting (and many work less reliably). Even worse, some can suffer from phishing exploits and other malware. So you'd want to do your homework.

We know our own QR code has been purpose-built, works reliably and does not harvest any data about your guests — it's strictly there to help you get responses! Here's an article in the Washington Post about free QR codes if you want to read more.

  3. You would still need/want to design QR posters so they look good — we have many ready made designs created by professional designers that you can use.
  4. We have lots of tips in the app to help you maximize responses and we send more by email as your big day approaches.
  5. We also help you with a pre-designed "heads up" web page you can/should send guests a week por two before the wedding to encourage quantity and quality of responses.
  6. There are multiple differences in the Video Guestbook vs Classic Invitation page flow to further tune each one for their intended uses.

Those are a few of the items and we keep developing more over time. You could, of course, do it all yourself if you have the time but I suspect you're busy with other things — you're getting married! So your time is not "free".

Overall, you have just one shot to get it right. We help you maximize your chances to do just that!
